   Have you found any gum without aspartame? It is impossible! I search the shelves often. If I ever do find a kind, I’m sure it will have artificial colors and flavors anyway!

   Hi Carol, there are some gums without aspartame. I will try to get you a list. But you a right, that if they do not contain aspartame they will have lots of other stuff in them. In a couple of weeks we’re launching our full site beta version which will have 10,000 + food lists in it.. you’ll be able to find aspartame and color free gums yourself. Watch this space. AX

   Trident cinnamon and Stride cinnamon are the readily available sugarfree chewing gums. I have recently had a hard time finding the Trident option, but Stride should be much easier to find everywhere. There are a few companies on line which make gum w/o aspartame. Your local health food store will also carry various brands. Good luck.

   Even Juicy Fruit has aspartame!!! You can buy Aspartame-less gum at Trader Joes

   I am also a big juicy fruit fan – can’t get enough of it! So was also disapointed when i found out it had aspartame. But once in a while is okay????

   Also heard that trader joes and whole foods were not too bad for finding aspartame-free gum, but that they were on the $pricey$ side – is that right?

   Even the gum with sugar or corn syrup have Aspartame. One has to wonder why they are both added. Check out this website: http://www.wnho.net/aspartame_chewing_gum.htm
   Aspartame is a poison yet they are continually adding it to more and more foods, etc. Guess I will have to become a recovering gumoholic!

   Hi Joyce,

   thanks for your comments. There is definately much conflicting information out there as to the potential ill effects of ingredients like Aspartame. Most government organizations take the position that it is generally safe but that there may be people who have some intollerance to aspartame. If you feel that you might be one of those people then perhaps you should avoid it.

    This has been really useful. My daughter has been suffering from fainting fits for the last 2 months (as well as severe mood swings!) on a daily basis… Just by cutting out sweets she has not had any fainting episodes and she is back to the daughter we know and love!

    We have an iPhone application called the foodessentials scanner that you can use to scan foods and it will tell you whether or not they contain aspartame as well as any other allergens or additives. you can check it out here.

    I’m a holistic health practitioner
    I’ve been in private practice for a 11 years…
    I’m also a certified Clinical Nutritionist and specialize in Energenic & Vibration medicine
    I had a client complain of quick loss of energy.
    She thought it was adrenal burn out and was considering batteries of blood tests.
    I had mention to her in the past that it could be the gum she was chewing…
    With still the same complaints I asked her again to try to stay away from the gum.
    She found she was doing much better the next day
    as time pasted on she picking up chewing gum again.
    Coming in for a appointment with the very same complaints, I mentioned it maybe the aspartame in the gum.
    It only takes one stick of gum to start the whole cycle and less than 24 hrs.
    I too had the same experience.
    Once you stop.
    I promise the very next day you will start to feel better.

    And PEOPLE you can save a ton of money if you just stop the gum chewing and WATCH OUT for those floavored waters.

    I have MS and after drinking a diet soda ALMOST IMMEDIATELY it makes me feel BAD. It’s a neurological thing!
    Now if this effects people with MS wouldn’t you think it also affects healthy people? I know ASPARTAME is a very bad for me and I feel it’s affects immediately. It really does. If I want a soda ( I try not, but occasionally I will drink one with SUGAR and it does NOT make me feel that way) although I know I shouldn’t have much sugar for obvious health reasons and to keep weight off. I was trying to chew gum to keep from eating when I noticed this same weird sick feeling. Then I noticed the gum has ASPARTAME. So I thought I’d switch to sugar gum but I still felt the same. That’s when I noticed ALL gum, even gum with sugar has ASPARTAME! Why oh Why do they include that? Just plain gum with sugar would not be unhealthy except for your teeth but why do they add the ASPARTAME? Sugar has been eaten for centuries and it’s been fine- it’s when they add all those other chemicals that has made us unhealthy.
