You are what you eat… literally

YOU are NOT the person you were 7 years ago.
I’m not speaking metaphorically, theoretically or psycologically. I mean literally and physically.
You are physically 100% different from whom you were 7 years ago. Give or take 5 – 10 years, every single molecule that is you now, was different 7 years ago. The, possibly disturbing, fact is that you are made up of everything you have eaten and drunk over the last seven years. Think about it…what have you eaten in that time?
The average cell in the human body is aproximately 7 years old. Some cells, like brain cells, survive much longer and others shorter but on average each cell clones itself and then dies and is shed / recycled by the body.
What is key here is that when a cell clones itself it does so using the various resources surrounding it. These resources don’t just come from thin-air. They are manufactured by the body from the collections of molecules and atoms we commonly refer to as nutrients, vitamins etc.. - our food.
If over the last seven years you only ate Mcdonalds then you (your cells), would essentially be made up of the nutrients that came from the Mcburgers, Mcfries and Mcshakes that you had eaten. You’d be a walking Mcperson; your fingers, your nails, your hair, your organs, your brain, your cells, you, would be made up of atoms and molecules, all of which had at one point be handed to you, perfectly wraped, over the counter of your local Mcdonalds. Super size Me!!
It’s about time we really paid attention to what it is we are becoming.
