Walnuts May Prevent Breast Cancer

The BBC has reported that a new US study, presented to the American Association for Cancer Research earlier this month, has found that eating walnuts may actually help to prevent breast cancer. As part of the study, mice were fed the human equivalent of two ounces of walnuts per day resulting in a decrease in tumor size over time. Researcher Dr Elaine Hardman, of Marshall University School of Medicine, said: although the study was carried out in mice, the beneficial effect of walnuts was likely to apply to humans too.
