Top 10 Good Reads – July Week 2

top_10_weekly_articles1Hi Everyone,

Congratulations – We have all hit the middle bump of the week – we’ve reached the summit (debatable), and the worst is now behind us. I believe it is always important to celebrate the small victories in life, and in my life, that includes getting through to Wednesday intact!

So, in celebration I have gathered a couple of excellent little articles to share with you all. As part of my job (and for interests sake) I tend to subscribe to a lot of blogs these days, and found many, many articles this week about the rise in obesity trends, the E-coli crisis and a new magical weight loss solution to beat all other solutions before it – and after I read all 10,000 of them, I thought that I would deliver you all something a wee bit different this week. Basically, something that has nothing to do with E-coli, obesity or weight loss….for a change.

So fasten you seatbelts lads and laddetts, and prepare yourselves for the top 10 best readings of the week (well probably not the best, but you know what I mean!) If by any chance you have any great articles that you think are deserved of a spot in the top 10 list each week, be sure to send them through. ENJOY! Read more

Top 10 Good Reads – June Week 3

top_10_weekly_didyouknows3Hi Everyone,

I’ve got some petty cool readings this week for you all to enjoy – a mix of new studies with interesting findings, strange occurrences with even stranger repercussions and even a bit of politics sprinkled on top!

After receiving some pretty mixed feedback on Twitter a week or two ago regarding the new COOL labeling system (Country-Of-Origin-Labeling), we decided to put our investigations team on the job and try and put an economical spin to it. I have included it in this weeks list, and it makes for some pretty interesting reading (like is COOL a financially viable option?). If that doesn’t “tickle your fancy”, then maybe a study regarding the somewhat surprising destructive properties of laptops may suit you?

All this plus much, much more – ENJOY. I would welcome any comments on the COOL article if anyone has spare time. THANKS! Read more

Top 10 Good Reads – June Week 1

top_10_weekly_articlesHi Everyone!

Welcome back to another edition of the best food related readings from the past week. It has been a great news week, and as a result we have included in this edition studies highlighting links between caffeine and exercise, flu vaccines and asthmatics and ADHD and diet. But one of the readings that caused the biggest stir in the twitter community this week was the study that found that parents influence on children’s eating habits was insignificant! I can only speak for myself, but this was definitely not the case in my family. Actually, I believe my parents were the biggest influence on my culinary habits. It made me think – maybe the study was partly true, and when compared to Europe and Asia, parents in the USA have little influence on their children’s eating habbits? What do you think?

All this plus much, much more – ENJOY! Read more
