Top 10 Good Reads – May Week 4
Hi Everyone!
Apologies for the delay in delivering this weeks edition of the top 10 good reads, but between figuring out time zone differences and a case of the flue in China (yes, i was worried for a moment) this writer lost his way a bit. But having woken up today with a clean bill of health, and figured out that China is now 13 hours ahead of the US – all is good!
This week we have put the spotlight on several studies including surprising findings linking second hand cigarette smoke to the prevention of food allergies (strange!). We even discovered a study (small in size) that found a gluten-free diet can infact disturb the intestinal bacteria instead of making it better. But my favorite article this week investigates which vegetables suit your cooking style, matching your choice to certain celebrity chefs (Rachel Ray, Martha Stewart, Iron Chef etc..). All this, plus we highlight articles including topics such as MSG, sulfites and all the colors of the “synthetic rainbow” (artificial colors).
- Study suggests, cigarette smoke can prevent allergies ….but it can still kill you??
- Gluten-free diet not friendly to gut bacteria: Study says – What do you think?
- Country-of-origin labelling: Not so COOL? – What are your views?
